Global Jewish Leadership Programme

An application for the Global Jewish Leadership Programme is currently not possible. The next application round for admission to the summer semester 2026 will take place early 2026. Applications can only be submitted through our online application portal.

The Global Jewish Leadership Programme is exclusively tailored for Jewish students, who are non-EU citizens. We specifically encourage applications from students, who are actively engaged in their communities, as well as those coming from less privileged backgrounds and with exceptional academic records.

As a prerequisite for the scholarship all applicants must submit proof of enrollment at a German university.

The Global Jewish Leadership Programme is directed towards Jewish non-EU nationals, who fulfill the following requirements.

Requirements

  • Very good academic performance
  • Societal/civil society engagement
  • Engagement in the Jewish community
  • Place at university/matriculation/acceptance to a German university or proof of application
  • Non-EU citizenship

  • At least 2 remaining semesters before degree completion
  • Residence in Germany does not precede 15 months

  • Applications for the summer semester 2026 can be submitted early 2026 

  • Societal/civil society engagement
  • Engagement in the Jewish community

  • Motivation letter (max. 2 pages)
  • Europass standard CV format
  • University entrance qualification (Abitur, A-Levels, etc.)
  • Enrolment certificate, acceptance letter, or proof of application to a university in Germany
  • Copy of your passport
  • Proof of your societal engagement
  • Two academic assessments/letters of recommendation (to be submitted directly by the referers in a formal letter format)
  • One non-academic letter of recommendation (to be submitted directly by the referers in a formal letter format)
  • One reference from a Jewish institution (to be submitted directly by the referers in a formal letter format)
  • Further university or professional certificates (if applicable)
  • Further performance certifications (if applicable)
  • Microgrant proposal (minimum 1 page, preliminary idea)

Letters of recommendation as well as academic references need to be sent by email to wita@eles-studienwerk.de. These can only be submitted by the assessors directly. References sent by applicants cannot be accepted.
